• Saturday Coffee & Dish – November 2016

Happy Fall, Y’all! October was a busy month for us! Here are some of the highlights and things I’m currently loving for fall!   {ONE} Coming up in December I am going to be posting some of my favorite cookie recipes! So the next few weeks will consist of a lot of cookie baking and I don’t think anyone is complaining!   {TWO} Am I the only one that didn’t know that slab pies were a thing?! They would be perfect to serve at a large holiday party. I putting these amazing looking slab pies from Sally’s Baking Addiction on my list to try! Pumpkin Slab Pie Apple Slab Pie…

  • White Lasagna Soup

Y’all, it’s officially soup season and I’m so excited! I have big plans to try lots of new soup recipes this winter. Today I’m sharing with you a soup that is full of simple and hearty ingredients, because nothing warms you up on a dreary day like creamy homemade soup. And this White Lasagna Soup is creamy and tastes like comfort in a bowl.   Don’t be scared away by the long list of ingredients, they are mostly pantry staples. I find especially with soups that it is helpful to prep the ingredients before you get started, so you have everything you need ready to go.     I like this soup…

  • Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Happy Monday, Y’all! I didn’t plan on taking a little break from the blog, but I am returning with some renewed excitement for all the new recipes I’m going to share with you! Can we just take a minute to acknowledge that October is almost over, how did that happen? It’s time for me to get busy in the kitchen so I’m prepared to share all of my holiday recipes with you. Today I’m sharing with you a simple and healthier chicken recipe that’s going to balance out all of the treats that are coming. That’s how it works, right? We eat a lot of boneless, skinless chicken breasts at…

  • Salt Crusted Baby Potatoes

These Salt Crusted Baby Potatoes might be our new favorite side! With almost no prep time, you can let your oven do all the hard work for this low maintenance side dish. These little babies are soft on the inside with crispy and salty skins. Each time I make these the hubby and I have to stop ourselves from eating the whole batch! Toss the washed and dried potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. That’s it. Then bake them until the insides are tender and the skins are wrinkled. I’ve made these with a couple different types of baby potatoes and the baby gold potatoes are hands down my favorite. Check out…

  • BBQ Chicken Nachos

I know some people, like the man I am married to, like fall for football. And while football has definitely grown on me over the last few years, I might still get more excited about the food that goes with the game than the actual game itself. So today I’m sharing a recipe that is perfect for game day. This recipe calls for shredded BBQ chicken. Now when I made these I had leftover Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken that I used. But you could use BBQ chicken you cooked on the grill and then shredded or shredded chicken from a rotisserie chicken that you covered in your favorite BBQ sauce. The flavor of…

  • Crumb Coffee Cake

I love a good coffee cake with my coffee on Saturday morning. But there is no need to wait until Saturday morning to enjoy this Crumb Coffee Cake. The Crumb topping makes this coffee cake a little fancier than the Sour Cream Coffee Cake recipe already on my blog. There is something classic about a Crumb Coffee Cake and this one has the perfect ratio of crumb to cake. The cake is light and fluffy and the crumb topping is full of wonderful things like brown sugar and cinnamon. Buttermilk makes the cake extra moist and I know I’ve already mentioned it, but just take a look at how thick that crumb topping is.…

  • Saturday Coffee and Dish – October 2016

Hey Y’all! Fall is officially here and it’s been cold and rainy this week. That means it’s time for sweaters, football, and soup! I have a couple new soup recipes I’m working on and I’ll hopefully be able to share them with you soon! Labor Day weekend seems like forever ago, but it wasn’t. Here is a picture from our beach trip!   I’m loving my new candle! It’s perfect for fall and it’s on sale today! Have you checked out my fall Pinterest board? On the way to the gym this morning I noticed they are putting in a new Starbucks and it’s in a more convenient location for me…

  • Sweet Creamed Rice

There are some recipes that remind me of my mom’s kitchen growing up and this Sweet Creamed Rice would definitely be one of them. I grew up loving this dish each time my mom made it and now I love to make it in my own kitchen. As the name would make you think, this Sweet Creamed Rice isn’t your typical savory side dish, but unique sides keep the dinner table interesting. While I consider this a special side dish, there aren’t any fancy ingredients or fussy instructions. Just simple, everyday pantry staples combined to make an extra special side that I love to serve alongside grilled chicken, steak or even meatloaf. This…

  • Taco Salad

We have been eating a lot of salad recently and while some people are perfectly happy to eat the same salad with the same ingredients and the same dressing day after day, I like a little variety in my diet. That doesn’t mean that I won’t get on a kick and eat the exact same thing for lunch every day for a week, but occasionally I need a little spice in my life. And that is where this salad comes in. Basically it’s a taco without the shell and extra heavy on the lettuce. This salad is heavy on all of the good for you things like lettuce and veggies.…

  • Pumpkin Muffins

Fall officially starts this week!! Are you ready? I pulled out my fall decorations on Saturday and I’m loving how festive our house is looking. Now that it looks like fall in here it’s time for fall food. Let’s be honest here, I’ve been eating these Pumpkin Muffins for weeks and think they are the perfect way to celebrate the changing of seasons. Back when I was in college I had a friend who sent me regular care packages and she often included these muffins. Care packages with homemade baked goods were always a bright spot for a college student living away from home! After I graduated she shared the recipe with…
