Happy Saturday, Y’all! I hope you are enjoying summer! June was a busy month for us. On June 5th I celebrated my 29th birthday. The hubby spoiled me with a day of shopping and dinner out. Hubby surprised me with donuts for my birthday breakfast! And check out that cute plate that I found while shopping the day before. #givemealltheflamingos I made and enjoyed this delicious Double Chocolate Cake! I tried and fell in love with the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew and it was my new favorite for June! I think I lost count of how many I drank! Then on June 18th hubby and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. We started the anniversary celebration…

S’mores Cookie Bars
All of my s’mores loving friends raise your hands! Nothing says summer like toasty marshmallows, melty chocolate and crispy graham crackers. I fell in love with these S’mores Cookie Bars a couple summers ago and every year I start craving them as soon as the weather warms up! I wanted to share them with you today because I think they would be perfect for a July 4th BBQ or get together. I’m sitting here enjoying a bar (or two) while writing this post and y’all these bars have a surprising graham flavor that comes from subbing some of the flour with graham cracker crumbs. A base of hearty graham cookie…

One Bowl Fudgy Brownies
I love a good brownie and I thought the ease of whipping up a box mix couldn’t be beat. Well, I was wrong. With one bowl, seven ingredients you can pronounce and just a few extra minutes you too can make fudgy brownies that are even better than the ones that come out of a box! If you like your brownies cakey, this recipe is not for you. These brownies are fudgy, melt in your mouth, fudgy. They have a nice crispy crust on them and are deliciously soft. These One Bowl Fudgy Brownies are unbelievably rich. They are also perfect as the base for a scrumptious brownie sundae, like the Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sundae pictured below.…

Oatmeal Creme Pies
I have a love of Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies that goes back to my childhood and I was so excited when I found this recipe. While these cookies aren’t an exact replica, they definitely satisfy my Oatmeal Creme Pie loving sweet tooth. These Oatmeal Creme Pies are soft, chewy and have just a hint of molasses. Two tender oatmeal cookies are filled with a delicious and buttery creme filling, turning them into Oatmeal Creme Pies. Instead of a marshmallow filling, we use a simple creme filling consisting of butter, cream and sugar. This is good news for you mashmallow haters out there. Yes, sis, I’m looking at you. Let’s talk about oatmeal for…

Simple Pasta Salad with Sweet Italian Dressing
I love summer. The sunshine makes me want to head to a BBQ and enjoy a nice and icy iced tea/lemonade. Ahh. Today I’m going to share with you one of my favorite BBQ sides, Pasta Salad. I love that they are lighter than mayonnaise based salads and can be customized to be exactly how you like them. I made this Simple Pasta Salad with Sweet Italian Dressing for a work event a couple weeks ago and it was a hit! The hubby and I also enjoyed it for dinner with some sliced grilled chicken on top, a light but filling week night dinner. Our grocery store sells these cute little nugget shaped pastas and…

Double Chocolate Cake
So last weekend I celebrated my birthday and like most food bloggers, I made my own Double Chocolate Cake. Now don’t go hating on my hubby for making me make my own birthday cake, he offered to make one for me. He actually has made me a birthday cake in the past, but this year I was dreaming of this amazing Double Chocolate Cake that I’m sharing with you today. This recipe makes a lot of cake. Unless your cake pans have unconventionally high sides, I recommend splitting the batter into three pans. Since I only have two 9-inch cake pans, I bake two layers and then wash one of the pans and bake…

Strawberry Lemonade
The Monday after a weekend of birthday celebrations calls for a recipe that is surprisingly healthy and deliciously refreshing. Yesterday I celebrated my 29th birthday and my hubby spoiled me this weekend with flowers, coffee and a shopping trip on Saturday and then lunch out on Sunday. He really is the best. I also baked and enjoyed a delicious chocolate cake, because when you are a food blogger you bake your own birthday cake. I’ll share recipes and pictures later! Ok, on to the recipe for today. I have always liked strawberries, but this summer I just can’t get enough of them! Do recipes that only have 4 four ingredients actually count as…

Saturday Coffee & Dish – June 2016
How is it June already?! Instead of saying that May was really busy (I’m learning that life is just really busy) I’m just going to say that May was another typical month at our house. We started out May with a 1 and 1/2 week trip to California that began with us driving up highway 1 from LA to SF in a convertible! I’m working on a blog post and a photo book about all of the fun things we did and all of the yummy things we ate. I’ll leave you with a picture of this sandwich we got while in SF. It’s a grilled cheese sandwich with macaroni and cheese…

Baked Cinnamon Sugar Donuts
One of the great thing about these donuts is that they are baked not fried.
